The group has continued to thrive during the year with numbers on particular walks exceeding twenty people. The membership continues to be a good mix of people from St Philip’s, the Methodist Church, the Catholic Church and other Anglican churches plus a good number of local villagers. For the annual Christmas lunch and walk 42 people came for lunch and 36 walked. We have tried to vary the level of the monthly walks from easy (6miles and flat) to harder (about 8-9 miles and a bit hilly) to do our best to cater for varying levels of fitness. During the year 26 people visited the Yorkshire Dales, near Malam, for a long weekend and enjoyed excellent weather. Mid 2018 marked 20 years since the walking group was first formed by George Wilson (our lay reader at that time), Cliff Nixey and Dot Wilkinson. To celebrate this occasion a group of 16 held a lunch with George and Viv at the Morris Dancer.
